THE ALIEN BLAKK: New Song Posted Online

THE ALIEN BLAKK, the band led by guitarist/producer Joshua Craig, has uploaded the song "The Path" to its MySpace page. The track, which features a guest appearance by Deron Miller of CKY, comes off THE ALIEN BLAKK's sophomore album, "Bekoming", which is expected before the end of the year via an as-yet-untermined label. The CD, which was mixed by Glen Robinson (VOIVOD, ANNIHILATOR),will feature guest appearances Deron Miller (CKY),Eric A.K. (FLOTSAM AND JETSAM),Kevin Talley (DAATH),Donnie Hamby (DOUBLE DRIVE) as well as contributions from the band's current lineup, which includes David Ellefson (bass; MEGADETH),Craig Nielsen (drums; FLOTSAM AND JETSAM) and Joshua Craig.

Says Craig of "The Path", "I had a song that was lyrically inspired by a conversation I had had with James Hetfield [METALLICA] when I had met him in Arizona last year. Talking with a person with whom I have the utmost respect for in all areas of life, I was inspired from what we I had learned from him. I had come to a realization or enlightenment about some important things in my life that had been weighing me down. After a bit of reflection, I felt like a weight had been lifted. I am grateful for having met him and talking with my absolute favorite musician ever.

"When it came time to cut the vocals for 'The Path', I had nothing conceptually for over a year. It's amazing what can come out of you when someone inspires you. Everything shot right out, phrasing, rhythmically and all words that were used in one drip of ink as it shot out of me. I knew that for the chorus to sound huge, Deron was the person to assist. He was cool enough to come down to work with me for the day in Los Angeles. We had such a great time, he ended up cutting the ending verse with his approach to vocal layering and also helped to shape the song to where it needed to get to vocally. I had a great experience being in the studio that day and was inspired to then cut some extra vocal parts of my own when I got back to Arizona."
